My Hair is a Big Deal

I LOVE fake hair. It has been my saving grace for the last 20 years. I used to wear my natural hair all of the time. It was a hard pill to swallow when I realized that I could no longer handle getting a relaxer. It burned so badly and I would ending up with scabs on my scalp. Not only that, I have three different textures of hair on my head. So the softest hair would break because of over processing. I had to do something different. So I started to play around with wearing my natural hair. I watched every YouTube video posted. I would always look for the girls with a similar hair type to mine. I quickly realized that wearing natural hair was extremely high maintenance. I no longer wanted to spend a ton of time doing my hair. So I turned to braids and weaves. That was working fine until one day I discovered that I had yet another scab on my scalp from the hair being pulled too tight. That year, I shaved my head. I loved keeping my head shaved, but I wasn't quite ready to go that route. I am a true Texan, I love big hair! I started wearing lace wigs. This worked for a while, but the glues were just too high maintenance for me. Today, I am back to weaves and braids, my stylist comes to my home and she doesn’t braid too tight. I realized though, that I am not taking great care of my real hair because all of my hair is covered by tracks and closures. So, I have added wearing wigs back to my list of things to do with my hair so that I can have more access to my real hair. I purchase my hair from Mayvenn and use it to have custom wigs made by Tre Bella wigs. I also sometimes use synthetic natural looking clip-ins from Big Hair No Care. Another thing I do to keep my hair healthy is using products geared towards it. Since my hair is non porous I use products that will work the best on it. This should help with recovering thinning edges and the general health of my scalp so I can continue to wear my favorite big hair styles.
