Top: Free People Let it Shine Balloon Sleeve Sweater
Regular Price $98 on sale for $43.99 at Macy’s
I have an issue with finding the right fit in jeans. Jeans on my body type fit in the hips but my waist is always swimming in the waistband. I found a great seamstress, but taking every pair of pants to get altered has become expensive. I am always on the lookout for a great fit with the matching price tag. With all of the fancy brands out there, I wanted to try some of them, just to see how they measure up. I tried Abercrombie, FRAME, Anthropologie, Good American, and Levis. FRAME denim looked great in the pictures and Neiman Marcus was having a sale. These jeans were marked down
for $198 to $67, so it was worth a try. The particular style that I tried on fit nicely, but the placement of the pockets made my bottom look strange. I tried Good American and I love the fit. The particular style that I tried was more like a stretch pant, not an actual denim. They did fit nicely and I did purchase them... At regular price. The Anthropologie High Rise Skinny velvet jeans were a great fit as well. Last September, I went to Paris and I decided to go into Levi’s to try on jeans. I would normally never go into Levi’s because I saw it as sort of an old school brand from my high school days. I didn’t plan on buying anything, just trying on. I found the most amazing fit in the 721 High Rise Skinny. I remember back in the 80’s the saying was that Levi’s shrink to fit. However, the sales girl told me to size down. So I bought the size 25 instead of the 26. They cost about 120 Euros which was expensive for me. The fit was so special that I had to bite the bullet and get them. When I came back to the US, I found them for much cheaper than that, and the website often has a 30% sale going on. Since I don’t usually pay full price for clothing, this is a much better deal. Some of the styles are even $40 at Macy's. I tried those on too, but didn’t quite love them the same as the 721. This summer, I will be back on the hunt for colored jeans.
