This year attending the Barbie Convention was extra special because Barbie turned 60. Every themed night was amazing, with people dressing as their favorite dolls. There were so many classes and lots of shopping. Carol Spenever herself was there to talk about and sing her book Dressing Barbie.
Barbie Convention is an Instagram dream. There were so many colorful photo opportunities and a sales floor filled with amazing things to see and buy. There was even a Barbie themed ice-cream truck with all types of unique goodies to buy.
Night 1- The year it all began.
Most people dressed in typical sock hop attire. I put my own twist on a Greaser look, with a leather Barbie jacket, customized “B” jeans and pink Christian Louboutin stilettos.
Night 2- She’s Done it All.
Most people dressed as one of the many careers held by Barbie. I decided to go with a Silkstone teacher Barbie. The items were easy to put together and turned out really nice.
Night 3- Barbie Through the Years.
Barbie has come in all forms and themes. Night 3 was about dressing as your all time favorite doll, or simply wearing a party dress to help celebrate her special day. I wore a pink dress and high clear heels.
To party afterward, I decided to wear a custom made Golden Dreams Christie outfit.
Night 4- Diamond Jubilee Ball
On finale night, I wore pink sequin pants, a white one shoulder top and clear heels. We received the most amazing convention doll, designed by Robert Best.
What a fun and wonderful evening sharing with new and old friends.
